Christmas Decor Inspiration

Tis the season to be jolly, so deck the halls with boughs of holly! And why not add a touch of classic Christmas tinsel? That’s right, the season is here to feel festive and go all out with your seasonal decor, adding some much-needed sparkle and cheer to our lives.

You can choose so many themes for your Christmas decor – just have a look at Pinterest to see what we mean! So to narrow it down, we’ve rounded up our favorites for your festive decor. The possibilities are endless, but we hope this will spark your imaginations!

All out Classic American

Red and green should never be seen – except at Christmas, of course! For the traditional, all-American holiday theme, think Miracle on 34th Street plus Home Alone with just a dash of Elf. Heavily decorated Christmas trees, mistletoe and holly, full stockings above a toasty fireplace… All the Christmas classics can come to life with this decor. Add a bit of embellishment with gold baubles and string lights for warmth, then dot some pinecones or snowflake accessories around the room for an added wintry touch.

Minimal and Classic

If the traditional look isn’t for you, and you’d rather keep it muted and classic whilst still seasonal, keep it simple and focus on soft hues in a minimal color palette. Silver and white work perfectly with our Kemble range. Place small, metallic trinkets on your surfaces or tie small red ribbons around candles and vases for a subtle bit of shimmer and shine in your festive home.

If you’d prefer a modern and minimalist Christmas, forget tinsel and create your own eucalyptus garland to drape around banisters or frame your furniture (doesn’t it look lovely on top of our Kemble hutch?). Cushion covers can also be a great way to incorporate some Christmas cheer in your space. For the perfect blank canvas, white is the obvious choice and will go with almost everything – not just at Christmas but all year round (so you’ve got less to put in storage after New Year’s Eve!).

Contemporary Rustic

This Christmas, Accessorize your home with a modern twist. For this look, think ‘glitzy but muted’ with a few interesting pieces thrown in. Elements of nature are essential to this rustic look, whether you’re hanging branches from your ceiling or simply decorating on top of wooden furniture. Add sprigs of pine and fir to your center pieces and opt for wooden place settings over any other materials. For a touch of luxe, infuse hints of metallic, pewter or velvet and adorn a pair of textured antlers with some festive glitz.

Metallic photo frames are a wonderful way of doing this. Silver or gold frames are a timeless classic in any home, and you’ll be able to swap the prints inside to suit whichever season you like.

Sophisticated and Dramatic

Contrasting dark and bright colours is the key to a dramatic festive look, so pair rich navy hues or dark charcoal greys with flecks of gold or silver. Deck the halls (or whichever rooms you fancy) with clusters of candles and strings of tiny lights around the space. Create a dramatic center piece for this look with cut glass candle holders, or shop around for some chandelier style ornaments.

Our French Farmhouse dining set provides the perfect backdrop for a modern and glamorous Christmas.
