The sun is finally shining and we’re enjoying the great outdoors just a little more often. With Spring finally upon us, you may be looking for ways to improve your home and create a more light and airy space fit for the season. If things are starting to get a little out of control and cluttered, we’ve rounded up some ways that you can organize your space like an expert in every room of your home.
In the Living Room
Make the most of any awkward alcoves by utilising shelving – either built in or open – in tight spots to make the most of the space.
Use attractive baskets to store extra blankets and cushions for those evenings where there’s still a chill in the air and to keep from getting dusty when they are not in use.
Update an old jewelry box to store remote controls out of site whilst providing an interesting piece to display on your coffee table.
In the Bedroom
Store clutches using acrylic envelope and file holders from the stationary store.
Use desk accessory storage containers to hold brushes and makeup.
In the Bathroom
Use personalised towel hooks instead of towel rails for each member of the family to encourage easy hanging and fewer towels on the floor!
Gather handwash, lotions and perfumes together in a tray for a stylish display next to the sink.
Utilise the space above the toilet for additional storage space for linens and toilet tissue.
In the Kitchen
Organise your pantry by decanting dry goods into clear containers and labelling. You’ll never have to wonder if you are running low on anything and it makes it quick and easy for meal planning.
Organise under the sink with this clever shelving system using bins from the dollar store.
Save space in cabinets by attaching a rail under your kitchen cupboards or shelving to hang cups or utensils that get frequent use.
In the Entrance
Create a ‘home command centre’ right in your entryway utilising low-level looks, wall storage and a cork board to store important paperwork you don’t want to forget.
Attach casters to the underside of boxes for quick and easy access to shoes and roll under a bench to keep shoes out of sight.
I hope you’ve found these tips helpful for organizing your home for Spring! How will you be getting control over the clutter? We’d love to hear from you!
